Having started the season sluggishly with just four wins from their opening seven La Liga games, there are concerns Real’s team need improvements.

And according to Spanish publication Don Balon, Zinedine Zidane met with president Florentino Perez and general director Jose Angel Sanchez to discuss plans.

It is far from guaranteed that Real’s frightening attacking trio of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo will all be at the club next season.

And for that reason signing two strikers is Los Blancos’ priority.

Top of Real’s wishlist are Tottenham star Harry Kane and Juventus forward Paulo Dybala with the former recently admitting he would not rule out a move to Spain.

Dybala only signed a new long-term deal with Juve earlier this year but continues to be linked with a move to La Liga with Real and Barcelona both keeping tabs on him.

Madrid’s other priority lies with finding a new goalkeeper with Keylor Navas’ future uncertain at the Bernabeu.

Don Balon claim Manchester United’s David de Gea is Perez’s first choice but he is not ruling out a move for Chelsea shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois should he fail to sign the Spaniard.

Both Premier League goalkeepers have been on Real’s radar for some time and De Gea came closest to leaving Old Trafford in the summer of 2015 but a deal fell through on deadline day.

The final area Real want to reinforce is in defence with a new right-back and a centre-back targeted.

Perez and Zidane have outlined Real Sociedad’s Alvaro Odriozola and Athletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte.

Odriozola was recently asked about being linked with a move to Real Madrid but said: “I just signed a new contract through 2022 and that’s all I’m thinking about right now.”

Laporte is under contract with Bilbao until 2020.
